WSPA City Stampede

Well done everybody,

it was great!

WSPA’s first ever City Stampede went off with out a hitch! A huge thank you to all those who took part, everyone who helped us on the day and all those who came along to support the runners.

Costumes

We had a small group of dedicated supporters turn up dressed as farm animals and everyone had a brilliant time. People are already signing up now for next year!

We had Hawaiian pigs, cows in tutus and a myriad of other weird and wonderful costumes.

The run was started by The Mayor of Bath (Councillor Tim Ball) at 11am to the cheers of runners and spectators. Participants ran either 2 miles, 5 miles or 10miles.

All the runners, tired and very hot, made it round the course and were awarded with a medal at the finish and given a picnic to enjoy in the park.

The second part of the event saw the Pack Horse Band take to the stage of Royal Victoria Park’s bandstand for a barn dance. It didn’t take long for them to get people up on their feet dancing, to the confusion of the tourists on buses driving past!

A great day was had by all and WSPA are already taking sign ups for City Stampede 2010!
